Filming Underway

Filming for Finn on the Fly at our house began last week. We were able to see a view scenes being shot. The crew gives us a pretty good view of things. We'll watch for a couple of more days before we head out to the east. This slideshow will change as I add more photos.

We got hail

Major hail hit Moose Jaw on Monday, July 2nd. While some parts of the city saw very little, others got hammered. Our house got hammered. Filming on the movie begins Wednesday. They've got a lot of work to do.

Extreme Home Makeover

There is a crew working quite hard at preparing our house for the movie. We have spent the week at the Spa and are quite comfortable. Here are a few photos of the changes thus far. There are some before pictures to give you a bit of a context.

More on our Movie

Today we signed the contract and by Thursday, we'll be out of our house for 26 days. Combine that with our vacation out east and we'll be sleeping somewhere else for close to 50 days. They will be doing some major painting and landscaping which we are quite excited about. They need about 13 days to prep the house and shooting at our house begins on July 4th and last for 9 days. They do not shoot on the weekends.

We plan to spend a few days at the Spa, a few in Saskatoon, some at the Days Inn in town and some at Paula's folks.

This will be a wild summer.

Today many of the production folks were here looking, measuring and trying to figure out all the shots. They left us the script. Shea read it a loud for 3 hours and then Martha took it to bed.

Spring Updates

Just an update on some spring happenings:

• Sam got a job at Dominoes
  
• Shea turned 15
• Martha finished her first recital
• Looks like we are going to have our house used in a movie...more on that later
• I'm getting ready to teach my first University class
  

Relaxing Long Weekend

We had a great long weekend. My Dad came and we managed to squeeze a couple of games of golf, a Sunday walk in the park and taught him how to play Catan.

My Day with Martha

Martha didn't go with us to Edmonton last week so we were feeling a bit guilty, and decided to make a day just for her. She and I went golfing, visited the science centre and met Paula at Chuck E. Cheese.

John Mayer in Edmonton

We took Sam and Shea to Edmonton for their birthdays to see John Mayer. A great concert. The highlight was seeing Nadine! The Barrs and Plosz' also took their families so we had some good fun together.

Golf Trip in Mesquite

I returned from my annual golf trip with the boys. This year's trip took us to Mesquite, Nevada, St.George, Utah and Salt Lake City. Of course it was a great experience. 7 days, 6 rounds of golf and 4500kms. You can see all 394 photos on my flickr page or just look at a few.
